The Bell of Hearts Foundation was established by combat veteran and former commissioned military officer, Mr. Jesse Bell, who was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure at the young age of 28. Despite facing numerous complications over a span of 14 years, including multiple strokes and cardiogenic shock, Jesse’s health took a serious turn in September of 2021 when his implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) administered over 40 shocks in a single day. This marked the beginning of a rapid decline in his condition, eventually leading him to become a candidate for a heart transplant.
As he lay in his hospital bed, Jesse made a heartfelt promise to God – if given the chance to spend more time with his children, he would dedicate himself to giving back. Miraculously, just eleven days later, two donor matches became available on the same day, providing Jesse with the gift of a new heart. His healthcare team had the unique opportunity to select which donor heart was the best match. Jesse received his heart, the following January of 2022.
True to his word, Jesse has since devoted his time and energy to fulfilling the promise he made during his darkest hours. A year after his life-saving transplant, he founded the Bell of Hearts Foundation, an organization aimed at supporting those facing similar health challenges and giving back to the community in meaningful ways.
